Billiards and Barstools – How to Have A Great Bar

Whether you want a bar area for your home for the big game or that special gathering for that special occasion, or if you own your own bar and want to keep it lively as possible, you are sure to need two things. billiards and barstools are two near essentials in any bar, as you need a good old game to play, and a place to sit at the bar.

Choosing the right ones for your space is essential. They make billiards tables in sizes ranging from 7 ft to 9 ft, and they make barstools in practically any size and shape.

A barstool should fit a few criteria. First, it needs to be comfy. If I can’t sit down and be comfy and enjoy the game, I might as well be someplace else doing it. It’s that simple really. I prefer the stools with the polyurethane cushions. A barstool with a back on it is also not a bad idea. This can keep people from tipping backwards and falling off their stool (which I’ve seen plenty). Of course if you get a stool with a back then it should also be comfy to lean back in.

The proper stool depends on the height of the bar. If your bar is high and your stool is too low, you’ll have problems reaching things on the bar. If the stools are too tall for the bar, you won’t be able to fit them. You should measure your space before purchasing the barstools and get the proper size and shape for your bar. Sometimes you can get barstools relatively inexpensively, if not for free. I found a nice set outside for some body’s garbage, and they are practically brand new. Try some place like salvation army or discount furniture if you are looking for a cheaper alternative.

Depending on your space, you might want to go with other key features on barstools. Stackable versions offer space saving benefits. A metal barstool offers more stability and strength. Some wood stools have been known to crack under pressure. An adjustable height barstool keeps you proper even if your bar goes under changes.

You can make them taller or shorter depending on the height of the bar itself. These and other features are things to consider when purchasing barstools for your bar.
