Billiards pool tables or billiard tables and bar games are becoming ever increasingly popular these days. Competitions in these games have been going on for a while in Europe and some in the United States. There are a lot of different kinds of billiard tables,  pool table sizes and pool table games that can be played depending on the table you have.

The best quality billiard tables are made with slate, it is known as slate pool tables, which is heavy but also gives the table a sturdy feel. Nothing like trying to line up that shot on a wobbly table. You can find nice ones that are not made with slate but the slate pool tables are much nicer. Pool felt cloth lines the table itself, and rubber cushioning surrounds the wooden rails. A traditional pool table pockets comes in 7 ft, 8 ft, or 9 ft.

The 8 ft and 9 ft length tables are the ones used in competition. Some billiard tables have a ball return system, others just stationary leather pockets or a wooden pocket for the ball to sit in when you make a shot.

Other kinds of billiard  tables include bumper pool tables and snooker tables. Bumper pool is played on a table that is shaped like an octagon most commonly, but can be played on a regular rectangular table. Bumpers are placed all around and you have to get your balls sunk before the other person. Snooker tables are popular in England.

They are roughly 12 feet tall. The object of the game is to sink the red balls after sinking the corresponding colored ball. These games are fun but require special tables to play them.

The price range of a traditional 8 ft rectangular pool table can vary. If you go with slate pool tables, expect to pay a whole lot more. But if you’re just a casual player looking for something for the garage, you can get a nice new one for around 200 dollars. Although you truly get what you pay for, if you are just looking to play for fun a cheap pool table  is the way to go. Some of these are made from partical board, so be careful as they can get damaged easily.

The more expensive pool table games  are obviously sturdier, more durable, and will last longer. You can also lean on these without having the table feel like it is going to break under your pressure.
